Student film opening analysis

For research, I have decided to watch previous student film openings and I have decided to analyse one in terms of camera, mise en scene, editing and sound. The mysterious sound used in this opening makes me think straight away, it will be a conspiracy thriller. They have decided to shoot the opening in the inner city of London, where it is mostly populated. The briefcase has been used a prop at the end of the opening, which could indicate that there might be something important in the briefcase. Also the close up shot of the blackberry phone connotes that there may be suspense and tension in this movie. The use of slow motion and fast motion in this opening makes the audience paranoid and they have the feeling of wanting to keep on watching it. The match cut used in this opening tells the audience of what the scene is doing in more details for example, when the actor opens the telephone phone, a close-up match cut is used to show her opening the door. The opening uses natural lightning to give the atmospheric feeling of dullness and realism. I like the way the title "Inside" comes in from right to left at a constant speed and then it appears suddenly as a whole. The beginning and the end of the word is faded out to give the sense of mystery.
