Illustrate how directors have made intertextual references to Psycho in their films.
What Lies Beneath:

This movie is a supernatural thriller and this movie carries the contents of the shower scene from Psycho. The bathtub, the shower head running and the victim lying down is seen in Psycho. The man, her husband, carries her to the bath and instead of using a prop to kill her, he tries to drown her.
Fatal Attraction:

This movie also contains the contents of the shower scene from Psycho. The knife that is used, is borrowed from Psycho. A woman getting stabbed and a white background was all
influenced from Psycho but this time it was a woman stabbing the other woman. The woman doesn't get killed by a knife but instead shot by the other woman after the guy drowns her in the bathtub.
The Stepfather:
The stepfather, carring a knife, and the woman, the victim, are both in the bathroom and more interestingly it is a white bathroom. The guy
chases after her in anger but instead the woman kills the guy using the
broken mirror that broke. But we all know, he doesnt die. He comes back for more.Succumbus:
Succubus is a student thriller and it carries elements of the famous shower scene in Psycho. A man takes a shower and the woman creeps into the bathroom. While she is hiding, she suddenly opens the shower door and stabs the man with a knife. The way she is stabbing is borrowed from Psycho.
